This is the life cycle of social media sites. They rise up on the backs of the adult industry, get big enough that they think they can abandon it, ban adult content, and then slowly wither away. This cycle has been a long one, but tumblr and facebook will die one day.

Tbh mercury (communication/technology/commerce) is retrograde so like this isn’t that huge of a surprise esp with tumblrs history but at the same time, things that happen during merc retrograde don’t always stick so I have a feeling that this decision is either gonna blow up in their face so much that they will reverse it or, like always, sex workers will find a way to adapt and use the site differently. And eventually a better, NSFW friendly alternative is bound to come along soon so like, all hope is not lost yet
Tumblr is specifically banning CONTENT, NOT ENTIRE BLOGS! Don’t loose your hard-earned followings just yet! I know this is a big loss for the sex worker community but there may be some hope left for us here. A lot of people have been talking about using censors, posting non-nude ads, etc. so don’t delete your blogs just yet! It’s irreversible and you may regret it later on. Wait it out, and let’s see where this goes. We WILL adapt. ❤️
